Sound shielding

Sound shields are walls

made up of metal carpentry structures,

anchored to supports that support the sound-absorbing panels in aluminum alloy.

Source measures are often not sufficient to effectively protect the population from nuisance noise along busy railways, motorways and main roads. Noise barrier walls are able to contain noise along its propagation path. In recent years, several hundred kilometers of noise barriers have been built in Switzerland.

Acoustic walls are also used inside or outside buildings to prevent the spread of otherwise unavoidable noise.

The sound shielding interrupts the direct propagation of sound from the emission source to the object to be protected. An interruption of the line of sight between the cause of the noise and the place of entry reduces the load.
